It was a distinct honor to be invited by the “Orion” Astronomical Society to deliver a lecture on “Introduction to Landscape Astrophotography” at the lecture hall of the Department of Geology, University of Patras.

Addressing a full house, I had the opportunity to break down the techniques and challenges of night photography. We explored the importance of meticulous planning, the strategic choice of optics, and the methods that empower photographers to capture the majesty of the cosmos with professional precision.

As a gesture of support to the local community and the attendees, I provided a custom NPF Calculator (Excel version) as a free resource. This tool simplifies the complex calculations required to avoid star trails, ensuring pinpoint stars in every long-exposure frame.

My sincere thanks to the board of the “Orion” Society for the invitation and the exceptional hospitality, and to everyone who attended for their enthusiasm and insightful questions.

Keep Looking Up!
